Burns Night In Northumberland

Burns night is an annual celebration where people in Scotland and other areas of the UK come together to celebrate the life of the bard poet Robert Burns who was most famous for his poem ‘Auld Lang Syne’ which I’m sure most of you will be familiar with. Burns was born on January 25th 1759 and this day is celebrated widely throughout Scotland.

Robert Burns is one of Scotland’s most important cultural icons and so the celebrations on this day are very special and if you’re a fan of burns, a literature enthusiast, or just love a good celebration for all the right reasons then you should get down to Warkworth House Hotel on the 25th of January to celebrate in style with us.

Burns wrote a lot about politics and civil issues which were very apparent here in Northumberland and so we feel it is important that this night remains special and you can be sure that the whole of Scotland and the borders will be celebrating to appreciate the great man’s life.

Scotland is going to be a great place to be on Burn’s night with plenty of events taking place such as Burn’s supper and opportunities to find out all about him and his poetry.

Even-though our hotel does not participate in Burns Night celebrations, if you decide that you want to spend Burns Night in the beautiful town of Warkworth you are more than welcome to stay in our lovely hotel after you have taken part in any of the local celebrations.

The whole of Scotland and the borders will be array with Burns suppers, renditions of the poetry and some traditional Scottish music from the bagpipes. This is an event that really should not be missed as it is a yearly occasion that makes Scotland a special place to be.
